Photos: Arctic Monkeys played the second night of their three consecutive sold-out show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA on 09/30/13.
English indie rock band, Arctic Monkey, can’t be injected into one particular genre. The band can be punks, rockers, balladeers and everything in between. And the Wiltern was the perfect venue to hear that in full effect, where every syllable of their dark yet playful lyrics can be heard perfectly intelligible-and loud.
As soon as the Arctic Monkeys rolled out on stage and launched into “Do I Wanna Know?”, sheer electricity pumped out of the ecstatic crowd. A precursor of how the rest of the night and show would be like. Every song sounded so tight and clean, such a near-perfect performance of their recordings. Oh how the band grew to be solid live performers. Lead singer Alex Turner, had a pure stage presence, crooning into the mic, strumming his guitar and bantering with the audience. The confident energy he gives off, stirs the crowd mad.
As for the set, the band played more of their loud, upbeat and rock n’ rolling hits, such as fan favorites “Brianstorm” & “Fluorescent Adolescent”, mixed in with new songs, “No. 1 Party Anthem” & “Arabella”, from their recent album, AM. The band closed & delivered their second night with “R U Mine?”.
